Council Must Act Now on West Jesmond Air Pollution

For three years, Newcastle City Council has promised a “School Street” outside West Jesmond Primary to cut dangerous air pollution. Yet despite evidence showing pollution exceeding WHO limits, nothing has happened.

Children deserve clean air and safe streets. Every delay puts their health at risk. We call on the council to stop stalling and deliver the School Street now—alongside better cycling infrastructure to make active travel the easy choice.
